FAQs

  • Each term runs for 8 weeks. If you have signed up for a class that is on Mon 6:50pm, for example, then your class is on the same timeslot for 8 weeks.

For our level classes, within the term, you will learn pole tricks based on our syllabus which will help you in progressing safely in pole. You will also be learning a choreography that incorporates these tricks.

For choreography classes, you will be taught specific techniques and pole, chair or floor tricks that may be out of our syllabus but carefully selected by our instructors to ensure these tricks are achievable within the choreography.

  • Our SNF classes focus on improving your strength, flexibility and technique to discover new range in your flexibility both on and off the pole. Each 8-week term will focus on conditioning for your front splits, middle splits or backbends.

  • We get it - sudden thunderstorms, unexpected traffic, and the universe just working against you may cause delays. As long as you are able to make it for warm ups you're good, after which, we’ll have to ask you to sit out the session. A warmed-up body is safer to pole / dance in.

  • If you miss a class, update the respective term’s Google sheet by removing your name for the class you’ve missed and adding your name to the class you wish to attend for make-up. You can choose to make-up with classes your level or lower, or with an SNF class.

  • At Studio Albatross we will take you under our wingspan no matter what fitness level you are at! We strongly believe that pole is for everybody and every BODY. If you’re still not sure, drop us a message and we’ll gladly schedule you for a taster class or recommend you classes based on your current skill level!

  • We’ve got you! Drop us a line at dance@studio-albatross.com on what classes have piqued your interest and any relevant experience you may have so that we can recommend you suitable classes.

  • Whatever makes you feel safe and comfortable in! You do you boo! Instructors may also recommend certain accessories like grippy kneepads, etc., depending on the routine. For those new to pole, we recommend shorts (short enough to expose your thighs), a sports bra, and a tank top or singlet. The more skin surface area you have the better.

    Here’s a little cheat sheet:

Chair Classes: Shorts / leggings / pole wear, heels or socks, kneepads (optional)

Floorwork Classes: Shorts / leggings / pole wear, kneepads, heels

Stretch Classes: Shorts / leggings, sports bra / tank top / singlet

Pole Classes: Shorts, sports bra / tank top / singlet, pole wear

  • For hygiene purposes, we do not provide shoes for rental. We encourage you to purchase your own set of heels when you are ready!
