Studio Policies

This page lists Studio Albatross’s Studio Policies which are deemed to be agreed to by you when you complete your class registration. Please read through the policies carefully and we look forward to dancing with you!

Class Registration and Payment

ALL PAYMENTS FOR CLASS REGISTRATION ARE FINAL.

Please book your sessions carefully and consider any medical conditions or injuries; travel, work and other commitments before registering for a class and purchasing drop-in packages.

There will be no full nor prorated refunds in cash and/or credit; nor roll over or transfer of any missed classes and/or expired and unused drop-ins once you’re registered. Requests for refunds due to pre-existing medical conditions (including pregnancies) or injuries; travel, work and other commitments, and personal emergencies will not be entertained.

If you develop a medical condition that requires you to stop your classes immediately and prevents you from continuing for the remaining duration of the term, please send supporting medical documents to dance@studio-albatross.com and a prorated refund in class credits may be issued on a case by case basis, subject to the studio’s review and approval.

All missed lessons must be made-up within the term. Please refer to our Make-up Policy for further information.

To register for classes, you will have to create an account on https://app.gostudiopro.com/online/studioalbatross. Studio Pro is a third party platform designed to allow parents to register multiple students. However, please do not add multiple students aside from yourself under your account as this may cause errors in your class registrations. If you have a friend who would like to register for a class with you, they will have to create their own account as well. Please refer to our guide on creating your account.

Please ensure to make payments on time to secure your slot in your desired classes. In the event of late payment, the studio reserves the right to collect a late payment fee at 10% of the total due amount or release your reserved spot to other students who are able to pay on time and deny you entry into class until and unless any outstanding payment has been made.

Requests for Transfer of Classes

In the event you have accidentally registered for a wrong class or a class you do not meet the prerequisites, you may email us at dance@studio-albatross.com to request to be transferred to another class, subject to availability.

Please note that an administrative fee of $20 will be levied for each request.

If you are requesting to transfer to a class of higher value, you will be required to top-up the difference in class fees. However, no cash nor credit refund will be issued if you transfer to a class of lower value. We strongly advise you to consider any medical conditions or injuries; travel, work and other commitments before registering for any classes.

Class Cancellations & Rescheduling of Classes

The studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes and/or instructors in the event the respective class does not meet the minimum required sign-ups or in the event of unforeseen circumstances outside of our control that may cause disruptions to the class or pose a health or safety issue.

In such instances, the studio will notify the affected students beforehand and in the event of class cancellation, the studio will absorb the $20 administrative fee to transfer the affected students to an alternative class of their choice. Where no alternatives are suitable, affected students may be entitled to a refund of class credits (valid for 6 months) equivalent to the class fees at the time of registration.

Latecomer Policy

Early is on time, on time is late, and late is a no-no. Arrive 5-10 minutes before class just in case mother nature calls or if you need time to change into your respective attire for class. Should you miss warm up, the instructor reserves the right to ask you to sit out of class. You may arrange for a make-up class with classes your level or lower, or with an SNF class. Please refer to our Make-up Policy for further information.

Make-up Policy

If you miss a class, update the respective term’s Google sheet by removing your name from the class you’ve missed and adding your name to the class you wish to attend for make-up. You can choose to make-up with classes your level or lower, or with an SNF class.

Make-up classes are subjected to availability and must be made-up within the same term if there is space.

You may also make-up for your missed class by arranging a mutual swop with a student in the class you are looking to do your make-up class in.

Any missed classes which are not made-up within the same term will be deemed as forfeited. No refunds in cash nor credit will be issued in such cases.

If you do not have access to the respective term’s Google sheet, please email us at dance@studio-albatross.com.

Priority of poles are given to those enrolled in the full term of the class, followed by drop-ins and then make-ups in this respective order.

There are no make-up lessons for missed drop-ins, Taster classes, Pole Practice or workshops.

Class Drop-ins

Drop-ins for our Strong & Flexy (SNF) classes can be done directly on Studio Pro! Select the respective recurring SNF class on Studio Pro and select “Pick dates to drop in” to see the available dates for drop-ins.

If you would like to drop-in for all other term classes, please put in a request at dance@studio-albatross.com for the studio to review your suitability for the class.

Private Classes

Please refer to our Price List page for information on our private packages and their validity periods. No extensions or refunds will be given for packages which have expired.

Rescheduling of booked private session can be done with at least a 24 hour notice to the studio and/or instructor taking that private session and as long as the rescheduled date falls within the package validity.

Last-minute reschedule or cancellation requests made less than 24 hours of the scheduled private class will be deemed as utilized.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled private class to allow yourself ample time to prepare for the class. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your booked private session, the instructor taking that private session has the right to cancel the lass and in such instances, the session will be deemed as utilized.

Pole Practice

Pole Practice bookings can be done through Studio Pro. Make sure to carefully select the date and time you book your session as once booked, the sessions are non-refundable. Requests to reschedule your booked Pole Practice session must be done no less than 24 hours prior to the start of the session otherwise the session will be deemed as consumed.

Please arrive and leave on time and ensure that you have cleaned the pole you used and surrounding area, and returned any equipment you have used.

We encourage exploration but be mindful of your own safety and limits as pole practice sessions are unsupervised. Use the studio crash mat when necessary and if there are others around, don't be afraid to ask for a spot if you need one.

Studio Etiquette

Attire

Pole Classes: Shorts and tank tops or pole wear is a must as we need our skin to grip on to the pole. Knee pads are highly encouraged for exo classes. Please refrain from using street wear heels, and ensure you have proper footwear for classes.

Chair Affair, Floorwork, Spicy Old School: Classes may be themed, please reach out to your instructors for the attire of the term.

Strong and Flexy: We highly recommend that you wear shorts or leggings, sports bra or tank top for hygiene purposes and to keep yourselves warm. With a properly warmed up body, you'll be able to ease into the stretches better and reap more benefits of each class.

Accessories: For your safety, please remove any jewellery such as rings, bracelets, anklets, necklaces and dangly earrings. This will also ensure our pole remains in tip top condition for years to come.

Grip Aid

iTAC is not allowed on brass poles as this will damage the brass poles. We allow the use of tackier grip aids such as Monkey Grip provided they are only applied to your hands or body and not the pole itself. Other grip aids like liquid chalk, Tite grip or shaving gel may also be used.

Hygiene and Cleanliness

Students are responsible for the cleanliness of the pole and surrounding area that they use. Remember to wipe down the poles, floor space and equipment used with the cloths and alcohol provided by the studio. It is a shared space so let’s remember to be considerate to all users. Should you fall sick, please refrain from coming to class for your own safety and in consideration of your fellow classmates.
